The Blackwing 574 pencil is a tribute to Native American art and the 574 nations that use it to affirm their agency and identity.
In designing the pencil, Blackwing collaborated with Chris Pappan, a Native American artist of Kaw, Osage, and Lakota descent. The pencil uses geometric patterns found in many Native American cultural expressions. Each pencil features firm graphite.
